The Marana Police Department is investigating a fatal collision involving a bicyclist and a 2024 Kenworth cement truck. Despite lifesaving efforts, the bicyclist, identified as 53-year-old Edwin Alexander died at the scene.

Fatal Vehicle Collision Investigation

On September 13th, 2025 at approximately 4:09 AM., Marana Police Department officers and personnel from the Northwest Fire District responded to a report of a vehicle collision near W. Twin Peaks Road and N. Blue Bonnet Road. The single-vehicle collision involved a 2021 Chrysler 300. . The driver died at the scene. He was identified as 42-year-old Jesus Verdugo.

Threats Investigation Leads to Arrest

An arrest has been made after a threats investigation. The Marana Police Department has been collaborating closely with the Administration of Leman Academy of Excellence located at 7720 N. Silverbell Rd. regarding a report of a threat made by one student towards another student.
