Inspections will be completed for compliance with building codes and will include a utility clearance required by the electrical provider prior to connection to the utility grid.

Pool/Spa Permit

A permit is required for all swimming pools and spas (new construction or pre-fabricated) that are 18 inches or deeper. This includes both in-ground and above-ground pools and spas.

Sign Permit

Permanent Sign Permit

A sign permit is required prior to constructing, installing, placing, altering (modification to the size, shape, framework or structure of an existing sign), or relocating a sign. This includes, but is not limited to, canopy signs, directory signage, drive-thru signage, freestanding signs, wall signs, and monument signs. Sign construction or alterations will be reviewed and inspected for compliance with Building Codes. For detailed information regarding the allowable size, please refer to the Marana Town Code Section 17-10-8 Temporary Signs-General Requirements.

Temporary Sign Permit

A temporary sign permit is required prior to installation of the sign. This includes, but is not limited to, the placement of banners, inflatables, quills, and portable signs. For detailed information regarding the allowable size, quantity or display timeframe, please refer to the Marana Town Code Section 17-10-30 Temporary Signs-General Requirements.

Commercial Planned Sign Program

A planned sign program is available for development projects consisting of multi-tenant buildings, non-residential developments with multiple buildings or mixed-use developments with the intent of allowing flexibility to achieve exceptional project design and to establish a consistent design theme within a development, subject to the Marana Town Code, section 17-10-12 Planned Sign Programs. A sign permit is still required prior to construction and will be reviewed for compliance with Building Codes and conformance with the approved planned sign program.

Residential Subdivision Sign Program

Residential subdivisions with a sales office and offering new homes for sale may submit a proposed residential subdivision sign program to regulate the use of temporary signs for the subdivision, subject to the requirements of the Marana Town Code, sections 17-10-30 Temporary Signs - General Requirements and 17-10-37 Residential Subdivision Sign Program.

Single Family Residential Permits

Custom Single Family Residential Home

A custom home permit is for a single use on a specific parcel/lot. The construction document will not contain any options as it is a site specific one-time build.

Residential Model Home Plan Review

A model home is plan review for a reproducible product and may included a limited number of options. Revisions to the plan set can be submitted for minor changes. Substantial changes will require a new application and plan review as either a new model (intended to be reproducible) or custom home (single one-time use with no options).

Single Family Residential (SFR) Based on a Model

To apply for a SFR based on a model plan, the model home plan and any deferred submittals must be approved and issued prior to submittal. Lot specific revisions are not accepted unless due to site constraints. If one-time revisions are needed that are not caused by site constraints, a custom home permit application is required.
