Permanent Sign Permit
A sign permit is required prior to constructing, installing, placing, altering (modification to the size, shape, framework or structure of an existing sign), or relocating a sign. This includes, but is not limited to, canopy signs, directory signage, drive-thru signage, freestanding signs, wall signs, and monument signs. Sign construction or alterations will be reviewed and inspected for compliance with Building Codes. Temporary Sign Permit
A temporary sign permit is required prior to installation of the sign. This includes, but is not limited to, the placement of banners, inflatables, quills, and portable signs. For detailed information regarding the allowable size, quantity or display timeframe, please refer to the Marana Town Code Section 17-10-30 Temporary Signs-General Requirements.
Commercial Planned Sign Program
A planned sign program is available for development projects consisting of multi-tenant buildings, non-residential developments with multiple buildings or mixed-use developments with the intent of allowing flexibility to achieve exceptional project design and to establish a consistent design theme within a development, subject to the Marana Town Code, section 17-10-12 Planned Sign Programs. A sign permit is still required prior to construction and will be reviewed for compliance with Building Codes and conformance with the approved planned sign program.
Residential Subdivision Sign Program
Residential subdivisions with a sales office and offering new homes for sale may submit a proposed residential subdivision sign program to regulate the use of temporary signs for the subdivision, subject to the requirements of the Marana Town Code, sections 17-10-30 Temporary Signs - General Requirements and 17-10-37 Residential Subdivision Sign Program.
