Marana Police Locate and Identify Human Remains in 2020 Homicide Investigation
Marana, AZ — The Marana Police Department continues to investigate the 2020 homicide of Robert Drabeck. The investigation began in February 2020 after officers located evidence of a violent crime inside a motor home in the 6800 block of North Camino Martin while attempting to locate Drabeck, who had been reported missing.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives pursued numerous leads, conducted interviews, and served search warrants to locate Drabeck and determine what happened to him.
On August 4, 2026, detectives served a search warrant at a residence in the 2700 block of North Dodge Boulevard, where human remains were located buried in the backyard. The remains were turned over to the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner.
The remains have been positively identified as 36-year-old Robert Drabeck. Physical evidence indicates he suffered gunshot trauma. His next of kin has been notified. This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
