Public Hearing notice- Title 17 Land Code Zoning

The Marana Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on February 25, 2026 at or after 6:00 p.m. at the Ed Honea Marana Municipal Complex located at 11555 W. Civic Center Drive, Marana, Arizona, to consider making a recommendation to the Town Council to amend the Marana Land Development Code.

The proposed amendments would modify Marana Town Code sections 17-6-14 (Accessory dwelling units) and 9-14-9 (Compliance with laws, prohibited uses; accessory dwelling units) to conform to recent revisions to state law.

The proposed amended section 17-6-14 (Accessory dwelling units) would modify the definition of “restricted-affordable dwelling unit”, clarify provisions related to the use of accessory dwelling units as short-term rentals, and update an exception for land in the vicinity of a public airport. The proposed amendment to section 9-14-9 (Compliance with laws, prohibited uses; accessory dwelling units) is not a part of the Town’s zoning code, but is a part of Marana Town Code Title 9 (Business Regulations). The proposed amendments to section 9-14-9 would adopt conforming revisions related to the use of accessory dwelling units as short-term rentals.
