The Marana Town Council will hold a public hearing on March 17, 2026 at or after 6:00 p.m. at the Ed Honea Marana Municipal Complex located at 11555 W. Civic Center Drive, Marana, Arizona, to consider adopting amendments to the Marana Land Development Code.
The proposed amendments would modify Marana Town Code sections 17-6-14 (Accessory dwelling units) and 9-14-9 (Compliance with laws, prohibited uses; accessory dwelling units) to conform to recent revisions to state law.
The proposed amended section 17-6-14 (Accessory dwelling units) would modify the definition of “restricted-affordable dwelling unit”, clarify provisions related to the use of accessory dwelling units as short-term rentals, and update an exception for land in the vicinity of a public airport. The proposed amendment to section 9-14-9 (Compliance with laws, prohibited uses; accessory dwelling units) is not a part of the Town’s zoning code, but is a part of Marana Town Code Title 9 (Business Regulations). The proposed amendments to section 9-14-9 would adopt conforming revisions related to the use of accessory dwelling units as short-term rentals.
