Public Hearing Notice- Land Development Plans

The Marana Town Council will hold a public hearing on November 18, 2025 at or after 6:00 p.m. at the Ed Honea Marana Municipal Complex located at 11555 W. Civic Center Drive, Marana, Arizona, to consider amending the Marana Land Development Code.

The proposed amendments would add new sections 17-3-4 (Development plans), 17-3-5 (Site plans and design review plans), and 17-5-6 (Lot line adjustments, lot ties, and lot combinations) to the Town Code, as well as revising section 17-5-2 (Procedures) and section 17-19-10 (Silverbell Road Overlay Corridor District development plan procedure). These amendments would provide an administrative review and approval process for final plats, development plans, and other types of development applications in compliance with the newly-adopted provisions in Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) §9‑500.49.  

The proposed new section 17-3-4 (Development plans) would incorporate into the Town Code the process for administratively reviewing and approving non-residential and multi-family developments and it would establish a threshold of five or more residential units as a multi-family development. The new section 17-3-5 (Site plans and design review plans) would establish an administrative review and approval process for other types of development-related plans. Revisions proposed to section 17-5-2 (Procedures), would eliminate public hearing requirements for final plats and would establish an administrative approval process. New proposed section 17-5-6 (Lot line adjustments, lot ties, and lot combinations) would allow an administrative review and approval process for lot line adjustments, lot ties, and lot combinations as established by the Town’s planning manager.  Lastly, proposed revisions to section 17-19-10 (Silverbell Road Overlay Corridor District development plan procedure) would eliminate the public hearing requirement for approval of development plans in the Overlay District and make development plan approval administrative in that district, consistent with new section 17-3-4.  These amendments would become effective on January 1, 2026.
