MARANA- The Town of Marana has appointed Brett Wittenberg as Interim Director of Development Services, effective March 7, 2026. He brings more than 25 years of planning experience in both the public and private sectors.
Wittenberg originally joined the Town of Marana as Deputy Director of Development Services on November 17, 2025. Prior to joining the Town, Wittenberg served as Community Development Director for DeWitt Charter Township, Michigan, for 12 years. Throughout his career, he has overseen a wide range of projects in Illinois and Colorado, with a focus on long-range planning, zoning, and community development.
“I have a strong passion for public service and am committed to serving the community with integrity and attention to detail, said Wittenberg. “I look forward to working with the residents and becoming a part of the Marana community.”
Since March, Brett has focused on maintaining operations within the Development Services Department, including but not limited to planning and zoning, permitting, building safety, and development engineering.
“I appreciate Brett stepping into the role of Interim Director of Development Services,” said Town Manager Terry Rozema. "His experience, leadership, and understanding of our organization make him well-suited during this transition. We appreciate his continued service.”
