MARANA — Jon Post was sworn in as Mayor of the Town of Marana on August 17, 2026, following the July primary election. Town Clerk Jill McCleary administered the oath of office during the swearing-in ceremony.
Following the ceremony, Mayor Post expressed his appreciation for his family, Town staff and the Marana community, and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the Town and its residents.
“This means a lot to me and my family,” said Post. “I’ve many times said that this job is sometimes thankless and difficult and stressful, but if it were not for the people I work with on a daily basis and for the residents of the community, it would be a very difficult job to do."
Marana native Jon Post owns Post Farms and the Marana Pumpkin Patch. He joined the Town Council in 2008, became Vice Mayor in June 2013, and was appointed Mayor on January 7, 2025 after the passing of Mayor Honea. Jon has served Marana in many roles, including on the boards of Trico Electric Co-Op, the Cortaro Water Users Association, and the Cortaro Marana Irrigation District, as well as chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
“I’m honored to serve as Mayor of the Town of Marana and I’m committed to doing the very best job I can for our community,” said Post. “I look forward to working alongside our Town Council to build on Marana’s successes and ensure our Town continues to thrive.”
Mayor Post will serve the remainder of Mayor Honea’s original term, ending in November 2028.
