Brett Wittenberg Appointed to Development Services Director

MARANA, AZ- The Town of Marana has officially appointed Brett Wittenberg as Director of Development Services, effective Monday, August 3, 2026. He recently served as Interim Director of Development Services since March 7, 2026, and as Deputy Director of Development Services since November 17, 2025.

“Since stepping into the interim role, Brett has insured continuity across the Development Services Department while earning the confidence of staff, the development community, and Town leadership,” said Town Manager Terry Rozema. “His experience and collaborative approach make him well suited to lead this department as Marana grows.”

Wittenberg brings more than 25 years of planning experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining the Town, Wittenberg served as Community Development Director for DeWitt Charter Township, Michigan, for 12 years. Throughout his career, he has overseen a wide range of projects in Illinois and Colorado, with a focus on long-range planning, zoning, and community development.
