MARANA — The Town of Marana is recognizing the Marana Thunder Youth Football team following its recent win at the American Youth Football National Championship tournament in Naples, Florida.
The Marana Thunder Youth Football 12U team earned a 40–19 victory over the Woodbridge Raiders of Delaware on December 13, 2025, securing the national title.
The team also finished the season ranked first nationally at the Division 3 level for its age group. During the tournament, Princeton Britt was named Most Valuable Player for his age division. The team’s championship run was led by Head Coach Phillip Britt, with support from assistant coaches Aaron Uhe, Desi Rodriguez, Dennis Yauch, Dermain Linen, Justin Medlin, and Emery Goodin.
Phillip Britt, president and coach of Marana Thunder Youth Football and Cheer, said the achievement reflects the commitment and discipline of the athletes, as well as the support of the families and the community. “This group represents who we are and what we stand for. Win, lose, or draw, we show up the right way — with effort, accountability, and love for one another. The championship is special, but the character of these young men matters even more.”
The Town of Marana extends its congratulations to the players, coaches, families, and supporters of the Marana Thunder for representing the community with pride at a national level.
