Threats Investigation Leads to Arrest
Marana Police Respond to Leman Academy School of Excellence Regarding Threats Investigation- Arrest Made Following Investigation
Marana, AZ – The Marana Police Department has been collaborating closely with the Administration of Leman Academy of Excellence located at 7720 N. Silverbell Road regarding a report of a threat made by one student towards another student.
On the evening of September 15th, 2025, the Marana Police Department received a report of a threat made from one student towards another. Officers opened a criminal investigation into the matter. Officers conducted interviews and began working with Leman Academy administration. Last evening, the threat could not be substantiated. This morning, the Marana Police Department continued the investigation which resulted in the arrest of an 11-year-old student who attends Leman Academy. The student has been placed under arrest for 1 count of disruption of an education institution. There is no active threat to the campus or any students.
We value our close partnership with our local schools. Our top priority is the safety of our community. There will be additional police presence at Leman Academy on the afternoon of September 16th, 2025. The Marana Police Department encourages families to speak with their children about the dangers of making threatening comments or statements. Students and parents are encouraged to report concerning statements or comments to the police or school authorities.
