MARANA- Voters in the Town of Marana and across Pima County will weigh in on a $2.67 billion regional transportation plan on March 10, 2026.
The Regional Transportation Authority’s proposed plan for RTA Next will continue the improvement projects that began in 2006. Those voter-approved projects included the Twin Peaks interchange and roadway.
The new plan includes five transportation improvement projects to further address traffic congestion, air quality, network reliability, efficiency and safety.
Several projects in the proposed RTA Next plan would directly benefit Marana, including improvements to major roadways and interchanges. Proposed projects include the Cortaro Road and Moore Road traffic interchanges at I-10, modernization of Ina Road from I-10 to Thornydale, and widening of Thornydale Road from Cortaro to Tangerine.
If approved, this plan would be funded by a 20-year half-cent sales tax.
