Marana Police Investigating Fatal Collision Involving Bicyclist

W. Twin Peaks Road and Camino De Manana

Marana, AZ – On October 29th, 2025, at approximately 8:30 AM., Marana Police Department officers and personnel from the Northwest Fire District responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving a bicyclist near W. Twin Peaks Rd. and W. Camino De Manana. The collision involved a 2024 Kenworth cement truck and a bicycle. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male unresponsive on the ground. Lifesaving efforts were attempted, however he was pronounced deceased on-scene. The bicyclist was identified as 53-year-old Edwin Alexander. Next of kin has been notified. The Marana Police Department Traffic Unit responded to continue the investigation.

Officers interviewed witnesses and collected roadway evidence. Both the cement truck and the bicyclist were northbound on Twin Peaks at Camino De Manana and had a red signal. When the signal turned green, both accelerated northbound. The cement truck and the bicyclist collided just north of the intersection. The bicyclist sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the cement truck remained on-scene. We would like to thank the multiple community members that rushed in to assist directly after this incident occurred.

The investigation is currently ongoing. At this time, no citations or arrests have been made.
