Marana Police: Is Your Golf Cart Street Legal?

Published on December 17, 2025

Did You Know?

MARANA- The Marana Police Department is reminding community members to follow state laws when driving golf carts on public roads.

If you plan to drive a golf cart in your neighborhood, it must be registered with the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division (MVD), insured for liability, and properly equipped for road use. The driver must also have a valid driver license.

Under Arizona law, golf carts are not permitted on sidewalks or multi-use paths and may only be operated on public streets with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less.

We appreciate the community’s cooperation in following all traffic laws when operating any vehicle on a public roadway.
