PEDESTRIAN FATALITY - NOVEMBER 17TH VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING PEDESTRIAN

WEST MOORE ROAD AND NORTH SANDERS ROAD

 

Marana, AZ – On November 17th, 2025, at approximately 5:57 PM, officers from the Marana Police Department and personnel from the Northwest Fire District responded to the area of Moore Road and Sanders Road for reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male pedestrian suffering from serious injuries. The involved driver remained at the scene. The pedestrian was transported by Northwest Fire District to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Despite ongoing medical treatment, the pedestrian succumbed to those injuries and was pronounced deceased on November 18th, 2025. He has been identified as 81-year-old Miguel Martinez. Next of kin has been notified of his passing.

The investigation revealed a 2021 Toyota Rav4 was traveling westbound on West Moore Road approaching N. Sanders when the Toyota Rav4 struck the pedestrian who was in the roadway and not in a crosswalk. The driver showed no signs of impairment. No citations or arrests have been made at this time. The collision remains under investigation by the Marana Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit.
