Town Council Packets are now available

The Town of Marana would like to announce packets containing information, forms, documents and petitions necessary for a Town of Marana resident to run for Town Council in the Fall Election are available starting January 18, 2022
Four Council Member seats are on the ballot for the Fall Primary Election on August 2, 2022. Those seats are currently held by Vice Mayor Jon Post, Council Members Patti Comerford, Herb Kai, and John Officer.
Prospective candidates can obtain the electronic packet, forms, documents, and petitions from the Town’s website by on the Candidate Information webpage. Click here to visit the page.
Candidates must be 18 years of age or older at the time of filing nomination papers, a qualified elector of residing within the town at the time of the election, and has resided in the town for one year next preceding the election, or if an area has been annexed to the city or town for a period of less than one year next preceding the election has resided in the area for one year next preceding the election. If an annexed area is subject to the provisions of this subsection, a person may meet the residency requirements if he or she has resided within the existing limits of the town for a one-year period.
All properly executed documents, including nomination petitions containing no fewer than 552 and no more than 1,104 signatures, must be filed in the Town Clerk’s Office no later than March 7, 2022, and no later than April 4, 2022.
A printed copy of the candidate packet may be provided upon request. The full candidate packet is 603 pages at $.50 per page will be accessed a fee of $304.50.
