Marana Communications receives three national awards for education and branding

MARANA - The Town of Marana Communications Division of the Town Manager’s Office is the proud recipient of three national awards from the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) for the following categories:

SAVVY AWARD for Public Service Announcement Video: "Are You Splash Savvy?" 

Town of Marana Parks & Recreation teaches children how to safely respond to a backyard drowning.

Judges remarks: A thoughtful campaign on a difficult topic that most people are more relaxed about. The videos were thoughtful and were done in an innovative way to not only tell them what to do, but to teach them how to do it. Well done!

AWARD OF EXCELLENCE for Marketing and Tools – new brand/logo: Marana Regional Airport brand

Judges remarks: The colors represent the southwest desert and the slogan is great. What a fun way to put Marana Regional Airport on the map! A great rebrand with warm colors that really represent Arizona. Stunning design and color palette; very strategic and thoughtful campaign.

SILVER CIRCLE for Digital Interactive – Other Media/Podcast: "Real Talk with the Town" podcast

Judges remarks: I love that they use resident question submissions as the basis for topics to discuss, as this builds connection and trust between them and their government. Overall, the podcast appears very professionally put together while maintaining a cost-effective budget.

About the 3CMA Savvy Awards COMPETITION

 The City-County Communications & Marketing Association announced the 2023 winners of its national Savvy Awards Competition during a ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Orlando on Thursday, Sept. 7.

The Savvy Awards, held in conjunction with 3CMA’s Annual Conference, recognize outstanding local government achievements in communications, public-sector marketing and resident-government relationships. The Savvies salute skilled and effective city, county, agency or district professionals who have creatively planned and carried out successful innovations in communications and marketing. 3CMA accommodates local government organizations of all sizes and budget classes by judging entries in several different population groups. Over 875 entries in 38 categories were received. 3CMA utilized professional communicators from across the United States as judges who review every entry and provide constructive comments on the winning entries. 83 first-place Savvy Awards were presented. 85 second-place Silver Circle Awards and 82 third-place Awards of Excellence were also presented.
