MPD commit to better customer service with new technology

MARANA- The Marana Police Department is now using new technology to enhance communication with the community.

On August 1, 2023, The department launched SPIDR Tech notifications in three modules: Patrol, Investigations and Insights.

Community members contacting the department will now receive a text message acknowledging their call. If a patrol officer is requested to respond, the caller will be notified when the officer has been dispatched. If the officer is delayed for any reason, additional notification will be sent with an update on the officer’s response time.

According to MPD, as investigations move forward, crime victims will also receive updates and notifications if their case is assigned to a detective.

To assess MPDs effectiveness and identify ways to improve community safety, callers will receive a survey to provide feedback on their experience.
