The Marana Regional Airport received a grant for pavement reconstruction around the east hangars.
This project is a complete removal and reconstruction of approximately 12,000 square yards of pavement, as well as rerouting the airport perimeter road in the immediate vicinity of the project to run along the Avra Valley Road fence line. The project will not only restore the surface but also improve it. The existing apron requires reconstruction to address deteriorating pavement and current drainage and flooding issues.
The construction of the improvements is 100% funded by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) grant in the amount of $2,250,000.00. The first grant for Phase 1 reconstruction has been awarded to the Town of Marana on 3/21/2023.
