Traffic Alert: Continental Ranch Regional Pump Station Force Main Augmentation Project

This is a Pima County Wastewater Reclamation project, not a Town of Marana project. Please direct questions to the links below.

Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department (RWRD) and its Design-Build Team, consisting of Borderland Construction and Westland Resources, have begun construction for the Continental Ranch Regional Pump Station Force Main Augmentation Project.

When complete, the project will provide seven miles of a new dual force main sewer system between the Continental Ranch Regional Pump Station (CRRPS), and the Tres Ríos Water Reclamation Facility (WRF).

A series of alerts will be issued throughout the construction of the project and will announce field activities and potential impacts to local traffic and/or Loop users. Please watch for updated alerts as the project progresses. You can also sign up on the project website www.sewerimprovements.com to receive electronic notifications delivered to your email account.

Current Construction Operations

The contractor has begun trenching activities for the dual 24-inch-diameter pipe installation along the west bank of the Santa Cruz River, from Ina Road to just south of the Crossroads at Silverbell District Park.  This phase of work will continue through October 2022. Work will be performed west of the Chuck Huckelberry Loop shared-use path. Bicyclists and pedestrians will see equipment and work crews in the area; however, Loop access will not be impacted during this phase of construction. Pima County RWRD and its contractor ask that you remain on the pathway and follow all Loop safety guidelines as you travel through the work area.

Emergency access will always be provided.

*The above work schedule may be impacted by weather or mechanical failure.
