Marana Technology Manager to retire after 43 years in the industry

MARANA- Technology Manager Mike Perez is retiring after 11 years with the Town of Marana.

Mike was hired as Technology Manager in October of 2011. He came to the town after retiring from his position with the City of Tucson.

He worked for the City of Tucson for a total of 32 years. He began his career with the Tucson Fire Department in 1980, working in the Technical Services Department. He then spent several years in the Water Department and IT Department before his retirement from the city.

Mike will now be stepping away from his position with the Town of Marana on October 7, 2022.

“It has been a pleasure and an honor to work for the Town of Marana. I have seen first-hand the progress made over the years and have been impressed by the high quality of service the town continues to provide to its residents,” said Mike Perez.

“Mike reached a significant milestone after 43 years of public service, almost 12 of which were served for the Town of Marana and its residents. I am truly grateful for his contributions to the Town and leadership in the Technology Services department and will work with the team to continue to build upon the strong foundation that he helped to establish,” said Marana Technology Services Director Ricardo Carlos.

Mike would like to thank his wife Liana for her support over the last four decades as well as their children Nicholas, Michael and Alea.

He and his wife look forward to traveling and visiting their children more often.
