MARANA- The numbers are in, and August kept the Marana Police Department busy as officers increased patrols for back-to-school traffic enforcement.

From August 4–15, 2025, MPD focused on speeding and other traffic-related violations which resulted in:

  • Traffic stops: 293
  • Speeding tickets: 61
  • Other citations: 36
  • Arrests: 13
  • Vehicle impounds: 4
  • Collisions investigated: 32

This enhanced enforcement was made possible thanks to grant funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The goal was simple: keep our roads safe and protect the community. Officers also focused on educating community members about the rules of the road.

Remember to slow down, stay alert, and put your phone away while driving. Together, we can keep Marana safe. A special thank you also goes out to the Marana Police Department Traffic Unit for coordinating this effort.
