MARANA- The Town of Marana is proud to recognize Judge Laine McDonald for her nearly two decades of dedicated service to the community.
Judge McDonald is embarking on a new role as a Pima County Superior Court Judge after being appointed to the position by Governor Katie Hobbs.
She began her career with the Town of Marana on January 23, 2006, serving as a law clerk before becoming a full-time prosecutor in October of that year. Through her hard work, professionalism, and dedication, she later earned the esteemed role of Town Magistrate. In that role, she continued to elevate the Marana judicial system by establishing the first in-house Judge Pro Tempore training program for the Marana Municipal Court, as well as implementing the Firearms Transfer Program.
“Being appointed as the Town Magistrate is an honor and an accomplishment I will always be incredibly proud of,” said Judge McDonald. “Having the opportunity to lead our court has allowed me to positively impact the court system, the people who appear here, and the amazing people I have been fortunate to work alongside. I am excited to work in a new area of the law and serve a wider segment of the community. In my new role, I hope to continue to positively impact the court system and enhance public trust in the judicial branch at the Superior Court level.”
During the Town Council meeting on April 15, 2025, a proclamation will be issued in her honor, celebrating her lasting contributions to justice and the community. The Town of Marana extends its deepest gratitude and best wishes as she steps into this next chapter of her distinguished career.
