Marana Aquatics Supervisor recognized as industry leader

MARANA- The Town of Marana’s Aquatics Supervisor is being recognized for his leadership skills in the aquatic industry.

Kevin Goodrich recently obtained the AqP designation from the Association of Aquatic Professionals. An AqP is a verified aquatic professional designated by the AOAP as having the necessary years of experience, certifications, education and/or continuing education to be nationally recognized for their qualifications within the aquatics management field.

The AqP designation means that an individual has the education, background and training for what the Association of Aquatic Professionals believes describes an aquatic professional.

“I look at the AqP as a gold standard in the Aquatics Industry to signify my passion and my dedication to the industry and Parks & Recreation as a whole. I am excited for this step in my career to stand out as an AqP,” said Marana Aquatics Supervisor Kevin Goodrich.

Goodrich is passionate about aquatics, including educating the community about water safety and bringing awareness to drowning response and prevention. He is a leader in the Aquatics field in Arizona and has been recognized nationally for his accomplishments.

Marana’s #SplashSavvy program continues to grow under Goodrich’s leadership. The program has won multiple awards for its approach to bringing awareness to pool safety. Goodrich also takes this important message to students in local elementary schools.

As the Town of Marana Aquatics Supervisor, Goodrich manages the town swimming pool and two popular splash pads. He also provides great leadership to his team of lifeguards as well as to a Recreation Programmer and full-time Aquatic Maintenance Technician. Goodrich is a respected and dedicated recreation professional.

The Town of Marana is proud to recognize him for this outstanding achievement!
