Marana Municipal Court Mission

Marana Municipal Court has jurisdiction over violations of Town ordinances, civil traffic, and criminal misdemeanor offenses committed within the town limits, and jurisdiction to issue civil protective orders. The mission of Marana Municipal Court is to provide a forum for the fair, impartial, and efficient adjudication of these violations in an environment that is respectful and safe for all who interact with the justice system.

When is my court date?

Your court date should be listed on your citation or the paperwork from your last court date.  You can also contact the court at (520) 382-2700 or court@MaranaAz.gov to get this information.

What if I am unable to pay my fine(s)?

If you are required to pay fines, penalties, fees or other financial obligations as a result of a judgment of this court and you are unable to pay, bring this information to the attention of court staff or the judge. Payments over time or other alternatives may be available. Do not ignore your responsibility to pay, as this may result in additional penalties and costs to you. Can I get a marriage license at the Marana Court?

Yes, you can get a marriage license at the Marana Municipal Court Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. The fee for the license is $83. If you obtain your license at Marana Municipal Court, you must bring a check or money order for $83 made payable to Pima County Clerk of Superior Court.  Both parties will need to be present to complete the paperwork to obtain the marriage license.   

There is a warrant out for my arrest, how can I get it quashed (canceled)?

To quash (cancel) a warrant, you have the following options:

Option 1: Submit a written request (motion) by mail or email to the Court

  • If emailing your motion, email it to court@MaranaAz.gov

  • If mailing your motion, mail it to Marana Municipal Court 11555 W. Civic Center Drive, Bldg C, Marana, AZ. 85653

  • Include the following information in your motion:

    • Your name

    • Your case number or complaint number (if you know it)

    • Your date of birth

    • Your current contact information (address, phone number, email address)

    • An explanation of what you’re requesting

A Judge will review your motion and make a ruling which will be mailed or emailed to you.

Option 2:  Post a bond to quash the warrant and get your case scheduled for a hearing.

  • You can post a cash bond to get your warrant quashed, contact the court at (520) 382-2700 or court@MaranaAz.gov for information on the bond amount for your warrant and how to post it.

I received a civil traffic citation; can I attend a Defensive Driving Class?

You may attend a Defensive Driving School (DDS) course if:

  • You have not attended DDS for dismissal of a traffic violation received within the past 12 months (violation date to violation date).

  • You were cited for an eligible civil traffic violation.

  • Your charge was not issued as the result of an accident involving death or serious physical injury.

  • Your charge has not already been paid or set for a trial or hearing

CDL Holders:

A commercial driver license holder MAY be able to attend defensive driving school providing the holder was driving a non-commercial vehicle and the vehicle was not being used for commercial purposes. 

You may have received more than one charge on your citation/complaint.  If you are eligible to attend DDS you may only attend for one violation, you will need to contact the court to address the additional violations listed on your citation/complaint. To determine eligibility and register to attend a Defensive Driving School (DDS) course, go to www.azdrive.com or call 1-888-334-5565. You must enroll and complete DDS seven (7) days prior to the court date listed on your complaint.  If you need an extension to complete DDS please contact the court at court@MaranaAz.gov or (520) 382-2700.  

How can I request a court-appointed lawyer?

Typically, in a criminal case you aren’t entitled to a court-appointed lawyer unless you’d be sentenced to serve jail time if convicted (found guilty).  You can discuss your eligibility for a court-appointed lawyer with the Judge at your next court date.

How can I petition the court for a protective order?

If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

You may apply for a protective order online at https://azpoint.azcourts.gov/ or a paper petition may be obtained from the court.  You can file your petition at any Arizona court. If you complete your petition online and you’d like to file it with the Marana Municipal Court call the court at (520) 382-2700 and provide them with your confirmation number before appearing.  Your hearing may be held telephonically. 

How can I find out why my license is suspended?

Who do I contact to get a copy of a police report?

If your report was filed with the Marana Police Department you can contact them at (520) 382-2000.

If your report was filed with the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) you can contact them at (602) 223-2230.

My vehicle was impounded, what do I need to do?

If your vehicle was impounded by the Marana Police Department you can contact them at (520) 382-2000.

Who do I contact to help me with Child Support or Child Custody Requests?

For information on how to file for child support and child custody you can contact the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court at (520) 724-2064.

For information on how to file for divorce you can contact the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court at (520) 724-2064. 

Where do I file a small claims case?

Small claims cases can be filed at Pima County Justice Court or (520) 724-3171.

Does Marana Court handle eviction cases?

No, if you have questions or would like information about filing an eviction case you’ll need to contact the Pima County Justice Court at Evictions (pima.gov) or (520) 724-3171.  

WHERE CAN I FIND INFORMATION ON HOW TO FILE A PETITION TO HAVE CASE RECORDS SEALED?

 On fulfillment of the conditions of probation or sentence, including the payment of all monetary obligations and restitution to all victims, you may be eligible under A.R.S. § 13-911 for an order that seals all case records of your arrest, conviction, and sentence that are related to the criminal offense(s) in this case by filing in the court where you were convicted a petition to seal all case records under A.R.S. § 13-911. To be eligible, a petition to seal the case records cannot have been denied in the past three years, and the timeframes required by A.R.S. § 13-911 must have passed.  Additional information and forms for this process are available online from the Arizona Judicial Branch Self-Service Center at   www.azcourts.gov/selfservicecenter/Criminal-Law/Sealing-records.

Note: A person convicted of any of the offenses listed in A.R.S. § 13-911(O) cannot petition to have criminal case records sealed under A.R.S. § 13-911.
