Chuck Huckelberry Loop closure near Amazon facility

START DATE: 12/20/2022

There will be no access to The Loop along the west side of the Santa Cruz River, between Ina and Cortaro Roads starting on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. This closure is in effect while a contractor paves the new Loop pathway alignment near the Amazon facility.

Closures will be in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This is part of the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department’s project to install a new dual 24-inch pipe from the Continental Ranch Regional Pump Station, ultimately tying in to the completed segment south of the Crossroads at Silverbell District Park.

According to the county, the contractor is nearly finished installing new bank protection and relocating a portion of The Loop pathway near the Amazon facility north of Ina Road. The improvements will allow them to raise a portion of The Loop pathway out of the Santa Cruz River flood zone, making it safer for the public.

Emergency access will be provided
