MARANA- Mayor Ed Honea and the Town Council are recognizing the month of November as “American Diabetes Awareness Month” in the Town of Marana.
According to the proclamation, this is a month to increase awareness in the community about risk factors and symptoms related to diabetes to prevent future serious health complications.
The American Diabetes Association says every year tens of thousands of Arizonans are diagnosed with the disease.
It is crucial for those diagnosed to learn how to manage diabetes through medication, diet, physical activity and daily routines.
