PAVEMENT PRESERVATION FAQ

Question: Why is Pavement Preservation important?

Answer: Safe and well-maintained streets are a key service provided by the Town. Roads connect people to work, schools, doctors’ offices, grocery stores; places that are vital to everyone’s well-being. Town streets are essential to getting children to work safely, provides for efficient response time during emergencies, and getting people to work on time. Investing in pavement preservation improves roads and saves money.

Question: My street is closed but I need to leave, can I just move the cones and drive out?

Answer: Please do not! Driving on the treated asphalt will not only damage the street, but can make a mess on your car and driveway. A shuttle service may be provided to get you to and from your residence and vehicle. If a shuttle is provided, service will run until the streets have been re-opened.

Question: Where can I park?

Answer: Check the map on the back of your notice for closure dates and times. Please park in an area that is a different color from your street. All vehicles must be parked off the street prior to the times stated on the front of your notice. If the owner of a vehicle parked on the street being treated is unable to be located, the vehicle is subject to towing.

Question: When will my street be closed and what time will the crew be on my street?

Answer: Plan on your street being closed for the time frame listed on the front of your notice. Please understand that we have several streets to work on everyday, so we cannot tell you an exact time we will be on your street.

Question: When will my street be open?

Answer: Work is scheduled to be done during the time frame listed on the front of your notice. You will be able to access your road given there are no delays and all barricades and traffic control have been removed.

Question: Will the HOA allow street parking?

Answer: The HOA is notified in advance of the pavement project. Street parking will be allowed during pavement treatment.

Question: Work will be done on my street on my trash day, what happens with trash pick-up?

Answer: We have notified all the trash companies of the road closure. Trash/recycle containers must be kept off the street. If pick-up is scheduled during construction hours, your trash will be serviced at the next scheduled pick-up date.

Question: What if there is an emergency?

Answer: In the case of a life threatening emergency, public safety vehicles will be allowed to drive on the treated surface.

Question: What if weather conditions prevents my streets from being repaved on the date scheduled?

Answer: Work cannot be performed in inclement weather. If the pavement treatment on your street is not completed as scheduled, the work will be rescheduled. You will be notified 2 weeks in advance of the contractor returning and sealing your street.
