The Town of Marana was named one of the top 10 smartest cities in Arizona by Zippia, ranking 7th overall.
To determine the smartest cities in Arizona, Zippia used demographic data from the census to measure the percentage of adults over 25 with at least a college degree and the percentage of high school dropouts aged 15-17 for the 44 largest cities in Arizona.
Over 40% of adults in Marana have a Bachelor’s degree, and Marana has only a 2% high school dropout rate. For reference, only about 30% of Americans over 25 have graduated from college.
