The Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP) Commission announced Marana Interim Police Chief Reuben Nunez as the recipient of the Robert J. Devries Leadership in Accreditation Award for his success and advancement of police accreditation in the State of Arizona.

Nunez used the Accreditation process to establish daily training scenarios that reinforced Marana Police Department’s commitment to “Unparalleled Service, Unwavering Protection, and Uncompromised Integrity”.  He garnered the support of the entire leadership team by presenting the basis and benefits of Accreditation, and sold the need to fully commit to the process because it would improve the department, increase professionalism, and protect the agency and personnel.

Nunez formally received his award at the Arizona Association of Chief of Police Quarterly Conference ceremony in January 2021.

“This award is indicative of the hard work and dedication Interim Chief Nunez has provided to our profession on a daily basis for nearly 37 years,” said Interim Town Manager Terry Rozema. “It is also a clear indication that our organization as a whole is rising to the top of the law enforcement profession in Arizona and is being recognized as one of the very best in the State.”

Please join the Town of Marana in congratulating Interim Chief Nunez on being selected to receive this prestigious award.
