Heath Vescovi-Chiordi, Assistant to the Town Manager for the Town of Marana, received the 40 Under 40 Award given by the Arizona Daily Star and the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

The award recognizes forty young professionals under the age of forty in the City of Tucson who are influential in the community through their professional and philanthropic contributions and leadership.

“I am incredibly humbled to have been awarded this honor,” said Vescovi-Chiordi. “I can only thank the people around me for offering up so much support in my personal and professional development, as well as the freedom to operate in various roles to gain so much experience in so many areas.”

In his previous role as Economic Development Specialist, Vescovi-Chiordi worked extensively on the development of the Downtown area of Marana. The knowledge of legal and planning perspectives he gained in that role aids him in his current role as Assistant to the Town Manager, where he acts as the lead project manager for Downtown Marana. He also collaborates on special projects throughout the Town, and represents the Town as a lobbyist and policy analyst, helping to educate and set policy priorities that help the Town’s operations, and assist in responsible growth and efficient management.

“In the six years that Heath has been with the Town of Marana, he has shown a passion for providing quality public services to the community,” said Marana’s Town Manager Jamsheed Mehta, “whether working with businesses in Economic Development, or working with residents as part of the Marana Citizens’ Forum.”

Receiving the 40 Under 40 Award confirms that the work performed by Vescovi-Chiordi and his peers is being recognized on a regional level. For the department of the Town Manager’s Office, it exemplifies and reinforces their dedication to all aspects of local government, not just within Marana, but from a regional perspective as well.

“It doesn’t surprise me that Heath was recognized for the annual 40 Under 40 Award,” said Curt Woody, Director of Economic Development and Tourism for the Town of Marana. “His passion for making a difference and accepting every challenge to make an impact on the community has been noted by his professional and charitable work.”

Heath Vescovi-Chiordi has worked for the Town of Marana for six years, first as a Management Intern, and then Management Assistant. He then moved on to become the Economic Development Specialist before his current role as the Assistant to the Town Manager. Vescovi-Chiordi received his BA in Political Science with a Minor in Spanish, and his Masters of Public Administration with an emphasis on Local Government Management, both from the University of Arizona.
