Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to accidental poisoning, overdose and abuse.  The non-medical use of prescription drugs ranks second only to marijuana as the most common form of drug abuse in America.

The Marana Police Department, in partnership with the Marana-Foothills Optimist Club; Vistoso Funeral Home, Arizona Youth Partnership and Pima County Wastewater, Marana Police Volunteers encourages Marana citizens, businesses and schools to join us in sharing information about drug awareness and preventive measures. The Marana Police Department will be hosting Dispose-A-Med every other month on the second Saturday, starting in February.

BRING YOUR UNUSED OR EXPIRED PRESCRIPTIONS AND

OVER-THE-COUNTER MEDICATIONS, INCLUDING VETERINARIAN MEDICATIONS AND VITAMINS, TABLETS AND CAPSULES, TO BE COLLECTED. PLEASE KEEP ALL PILLS IN THEIR ORIGINAL CONTAINERS.
