This page highlights the monthly fees for water service. To find more information about the development impact fees follow this link.

The rates below are effective as of January 1, 2017.

Will first be reflected on the bill received in February.

There is a monthly service charge based on service type and meter size on all accounts. These are collected to ensure the safety of the delivery system and infrastructure. Customers pay these charges regardless of the amount of water used.

No gallons are included in the monthly minimum charges.

Bulk Water/Standpipe Customers

Customers who have bulk water/standpipe accounts used to fill water trucks, etc. have no monthly fee.

To help recover the costs associated with water resources, all water customers are billed the groundwater resources acquisition fee. Similar to the other rates, this rate is calculated based on the monthly usage per 1,000 gallons. The current fee is $0.50 per 1,000 gallons.

Non-residential customers do not have the tiered billing structure. These customers are billed per 1,000 gallons at the uniform rates listed below.

Multi-family, Commercial, Industrial, and Government - $3.82

Irrigation, Standpipe/Bulk Water, and Hydrant meter - $4.33

Marana Water uses a tiered, or increasing block, billing structure for residential customers. Based on the monthly meter reading, residential customers are billed for water usage per 1,000 gallons.  As the usage increases, the rate increases.  These types of structures are used to promote water conservation. The table above shows the rates at each tier.

The Marana Water department requires a refundable security deposit on for all accounts. The deposit amounts are listed below.

Residential property owners - if you are the owner and primary occupant of the property, there is an option to waive the deposit by providing good letters of credit from three previous utilities. These can be sent via fax at (520) 382-2590. If unable to collect these letters, the deposit can be refunded after twelve months of good standing, meaning no disconnects, returned checks, or late fees.

Tenants and landlords - if you are renting our your home or are renting a home in the Marana Water service area, your deposit is refunded, in full, when you move out or close the account. These deposits must be collected before your scheduled move in date.

Sewer billing is calculated very similarly to water billing. An example of sewer billing can be found on the Water Reclamation page.
