Nextdoor - Social Networking for Neighbohoods

Join your Marana neighborhood on Nextdoor.

Nextdoor is a free and private social network for neighborhoods. On Nextdoor, residents create websites for their neighborhoods where they can ask questions, get to know one another, exchange local recommendations and share important safety information. All members must verify that they live within the neighborhood before joining Nextdoor. Information shared on Nextdoor is password-protected and cannot be accessed by search engines.

The Town uses Nextdoor to share news, safety alerts, neighborhood events and services. The Town has a limited presence: officials can send out messages but cannot view residents’ personal information or any content within the individual Nextdoor websites.

More than 2000 of Marana's residents already use Nextdoor for the following:

  • Find trustworthy local resources, such as babysitters, plumbers and dentists
  • Participate in a virtual neighborhood watch
  • Organize neighborhood events, such as garage sales and block parties
  • Get assistance to find lost pets and missing packages
  • Promote items for sale/free and inquire about items for purchase

The Marana Police Department uses Nextdoor for community engagement, in addition to our communication using FacebookTwitterand other social media platforms. This partnership enables us to send messages dealing with public safety, general information and/or special events. Each message can be targeted to specific neighborhood or groups of neighborhoods.
